Lines for COVID-19 (by Emme Gravely)

I can see the flowers blooming
and laughter suffocating the air around me.
This is just a memory.
Memories are all I have now,
stones thrown in a quiet pond.
Ripples in the water escape back to shore
and are greeted by stillness and silence.
The wind and birds call out for each other
but are met with no response.
